Rubberwood collection

Rubberwood is the wood from the rubber tree. These trees are planted for their rubber sap.

The sap is used for things like latex mattresses. The trees produce sap/rubber for about 20 years. After 20 years, these trees have a diameter of about 20/25 cm, from which planks cannot be sawn.

Therefore, the wood is cut into small blocks, which are then made into sheet material by gluing and finger-jointing the blocks.

This gives the wood a beautiful, varied character. The different hardness and structures of the blocks create a strong and unique sheet material.
